Especially in turbulent times, managers are navigators for teams, organisations and networks. They are required to look after themselves and the people entrusted to them in a confusing context. Especially in these times, they are called upon to provide orientation, create meaning and make smart decisions and set priorities with calm and clarity.
This is intensified when collaboration and leadership take place in international teams. Here, cultural issues increase the complexity in which collaboration takes place. While on the one hand the organisation often tries to ignore these issues, they actually continue to play a role in collaboration. All the more so when people have little experience of working in international contexts.
