The “peer counselling” method is used for professional development based on mutual support and the exchange of experiences between colleagues. Participants bring in specific practical cases from their day-to-day work, on which they are advised by the other participants. The counselling follows a fixed procedure and a clear allocation of roles (case giver – counsellor) to ensure a structured and solution-oriented approach. The case givers benefit from the diverse perspectives, skills and ideas of the group, which help them to better manage their professional challenges, strengthen their ability to act and reflect on their role.
Collegial counselling is important in the field of organisational development because it is a cost-effective, flexible and sustainable form of personnel and management development that focuses on concrete practice. Collegial counselling promotes employees’ willingness to learn and change, cooperation and communication and thus contributes to improving the quality of work and organisational culture. Collegial consulting can also be used as a tool for organisational analysis and consulting by identifying the strengths and weaknesses, potential and problems of the organisation and developing solutions.
As part of our consulting processes, but also as individual assignments, we offer training for the introduction and establishment of collegial counselling.
