Understanding the impact of projects and programmes

We evaluate projects, programmes and cooperation in organisations using our approach of qualitative impact research (see there). Our particular focus is on linking qualitative research with systemic organisational development approaches.

As part of qualitative evaluations, we conduct guided in-depth interviews or group discussions with key individuals and work with participant observation. If necessary, questionnaire-based online surveys can also be used. In-depth interviews are individual or group interviews to record the lifeworlds and everyday culture of the interviewees in dealing with the project or programme to be evaluated or in the context of organisational cooperation. They serve to gain a holistic understanding of the cultural impact factors in dealing with the object to be evaluated and provide concrete indications for further development.

Advantage: we work through conscious and unconscious interdependencies for you, describe them in a psychologically comprehensible way and point out development perspectives. Because understanding is the first step towards change. The report is presented in the form of a vivid, experiential presentation of results.

The results of the evaluation can be utilised in and for workshops as well as in the context of other accompanying measures such as consulting and sparring for managers.

What matters to us I Evaluations are

  • phenomenon-oriented, i.e. it looks at very specific case studies, reconstructs procedures and processes where necessary and describes similarities and differences in dealing with the object of investigation
  • systemic, i.e. it describes the object of investigation from different perspectives. The focus is not on the individual, but on everyday culture
  • holistic and illuminate atmospheric components such as interview dynamics in addition to the factual level.
  • focussed and relevant stakeholders are interviewed (users, non-users and former users of a product).
  • makes areas of tension that arise in connection with the use of the product or programme visible and describes the related challenges.
  • a learning and collaborative process. We work with an experienced interview team of at least two people, share our experiences and analyse the results together.
  • confidential, i.e. individual statements are of course anonymised.

Additional options

  • Online surveys
  • Social network analysis for recording, investigating and visualising relationships between actors. More attention is paid to the relationships and the structure that these relationships form due to their strength, frequency and connectivity than to the characteristics of the actors. In addition to the qualitative impact analysis using in-depth interviews and participant observation, the statements on the volume and content of the relationships within the framework of the network analysis enable transformation processes to be mapped. This allows potentials and gaps to be recognised and suggestions for the future direction of interactions and project cooperation to be developed.
