Artificial Intelligence. Leadership. Enlightened Management.

Bringing responsibility and economic momentum together is my job. I started out as an astrophysicist and today I am an investor, entrepreneur, management consultant and author, with a passion for working with people. I spent over 25 years in IT: as the founder of a telecommunications company, as head of a profit centre with 220 employees, as a member of the executive management and authorised officer of a listed group, and then for 13 years as board member, COO and co-owner of a Europe-wide software development company with 350 employees. There I built a values-based management system, and in doing so learned that dignity, autonomy and maturity are not feel-good words but design principles for an organisation: roles instead of ranks, guardrails instead of processes, transparency as the precondition for being able to decide. Artificial intelligence makes these questions more urgent, not obsolete. It is not a technical question but one of leadership, responsibility and accountability. My core competencies sit exactly at that seam between technology and organisation: AI governance, competence and role models for working with AI, leadership under uncertainty, values-driven organisational design, and guiding IT and transformation projects so they don’t end up in the prototype graveyard.

Area of work

  • Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter der p4d | partnership for development GmbH (seit 2006) sowie der p4d |
  • Managing Partner of p4d | partnership for development GmbH (since 2026) in Bonn
  • Artificial intelligence in organisations: governance, competencies, adoption
  • Leadership development, sparring, and values-driven organisational design

Key activities

  • Organisational development and strategy processes in mid-sized and large companies | Support from taking stock through to a workable target picture: organisational analysis, strategy and goal-system work from the company goal all the way down into the teams, clarifying the underlying values, defining roles, responsibilities and decision paths, building leadership and governance structures, value-stream optimisation, guiding growth, restructuring and spin-offs.
  • Culture-led AI integration in companies | Starting with culture rather than the tool, because that is where adoption and return are decided: determining where AI may act alone and where a human stays accountable, competence and role models as the means, the resulting role and training architecture, guardrails from the AI charter through to the works agreement. The measure is the productivity gain in regular operations, not the number of pilots.
  • Enlightened Management | Values, attitude and principles of organisational design: a view of humanity and of the world as the starting point, the guardrails, principles of action and organisational principles derived from them, translated into practices for everyday leadership, mission-statement and governance work.
  • Sparring partner | For managing directors and decision-makers, particularly at the seam between IT, digitalisation and organisation.
  • Change management for IT and ERP projects | Organisational analysis, transformation architecture, multi-project management of change initiatives, replacement of legacy IT systems, facilitation of committees and offsites.
  • Training & retreat | Leadership development, leadership coaching, sharpening roles, mentoring; learning journeys on values and methods in the digital age.
  • Industries | Telecommunications, IT and software, media and broadcast, retail, life sciences and agriculture, chambers and associations, international cooperation.
  • Keynote talks | Enlightened management and maturity as an organisational principle; AI compliance out of conviction rather than fear of the fine; which competencies remain alongside AI; AI as digitalisation 2.0 and the repetition of old mistakes; what we base decisions on: from classic to AI-supported leadership.
  • Regional work experience | Germany, Austria, Romania.

Values, attitude and principles of organisational design

Our society rests on freedom, equality, participation and human dignity. The moment we walk into a company, we consistently accept autocratic systems — leaders and led alike. This book does not resolve the contradiction with a new economic system, but by looking at the values that have carried our society since the Enlightenment. From a view of humanity and of the world, the author derives guardrails, principles of action and organisational principles, and translates them into practices for everyday leadership: from goal systems and decision paths, through transparency and a willingness to make mistakes, to the question of what artificial intelligence changes about all of it. A themed recipe book, not a single recipe.
